Call For Walls: 2025 Street Wise Mural Festival

We are seeking walls and wall partners for our next Mural Festival in September 2025. Key characteristics of our mural walls include:

• Large, outdoor walls in Boulder, preferably 400 square feet or larger

• Highly visible and publicly accessible walls

• Minimal obstructions (no windows, doors, poles, or signage)

Wall FAQs 

When is the mural festival? 

September 2025. This is when the artists will paint the murals and Street Wise Arts will host community events.

When is the deadline to submit my wall for the 2025 festival? 

May 31, 2025

Do you accept residential walls?

We usually prefer commercial walls because they are more prominent and publicly accessible. We do make exceptions for walls that have great public access and visibility.

Do wall partners select the artist and subject matter for their wall location?

Not directly. Our curatorial committee selects the artists for the festival. We do our best to provide wall partners with artists and design concepts they are excited about to create strong and meaningful partnerships. Wall partners will have the opportunity to review the artist and mural design prior to the event.

How are artists selected?

In 2025, our curatorial committee will invite artists directly. Artists are chosen based on their aesthetics, cultural relevance, diversity and social/community benefit. Our curatorial committee is made up of members of our board and other community members that are knowledgeable and experienced in the arts and culture sector. 

When do we find out which artist will paint our wall?

Once your wall has been selected, we will contact you to discuss the artists that are best suited for your wall and location.

Do we have to financially contribute to the festival? 

Wall partners are not required to cover the entire wall budget, but we hope that they make a meaningful contribution towards the costs of the mural. Street Wise Arts aims to pay all artists fairly for their time and supplies. Expenses vary depending on wall size and accessibility and include artist fees, wall preparation, supplies, equipment, labor, and insurance. 

We offer customized sponsorship packages based on the goals of the business or organization that include additional promotional and event opportunities. Typically contributions range from $5,000 to $15,000. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
