Street Wise Presents: Black Love Mural Battle & Art Making
Join us this Saturday, October 21 10am - 6pm and Sunday, October 22 12pm - 5pm at One Boulder Plaza ( 14th and Walnut) for [placeholder] festival. Street Wise partners with the Black Love Mural Festival to proclaim Colorado's Black history alongside the Museum of Boulder. The FREE event will feature live muralists, a community-led mural, drop-in art-making, and a live DJ.
Street Wise partners with the Black Love Mural Festival to proclaim Colorado's Black history alongside the Museum of Boulder. The event will feature live muralists, a community-led mural, and drop-in art making open to the public. Live muralists include Jasmine Holmes-Piesco, Marcus Murray, and Selah Ruckard. Participate in street art workshops led by Yazmin Atmore and Devin "Speaks" Urioste. Enjoy the music and dance alongside the tunes of Kaylee Bender, also known as DJ Bugs Honey.
Watch wheatpasting demonstrations every hour on the hour on Sunday, October 22. You'll also get to add your creative touch to the community wheatpaste mural and design your own collage to take home. For one weekend, October 20-22, 2023, the downtown Boulder district will be transformed into a laboratory of co-created placemaking* activations involving collaborations between various stakeholders (e.g. community members, local government, and private sector organizations). Downtown will become an interactive and engaging environment that fosters social interaction, cultural exchange, and creative expression.
