2025 Arts Education Mural
Location: Crawford Elementary School, Aurora, CO
The mural is composed of two connected sections—one located at the entrance of the Elementary School and the other at the Preschool entrance. Together, they create a unified visual narrative that celebrates the natural beauty of Colorado. Featuring imagery of the outdoors, native wildlife, and vibrant Colorado wildflowers, the mural honors the environment that shapes and inspires the Crawford Elementary School community.
These natural elements come together to represent Crawford’s ongoing cycle of birth, growth, and renewal—mirroring the journey of its students as they learn, evolve, and prepare to share their knowledge, creativity, and compassion with the world. The design reflects the core values of the school and its dedicated staff, who nurture and support each child along their educational path. Ultimately, the mural stands as a vibrant reminder that the future begins here—in this moment—rooted in care, community, education, and growth.
The Crawford community played an essential role in this project, joining the artist in brainstorming ideas and later participating in the painting process.
Special thanks to teaching artist Jason “Bird” Hernandez (@birdhere_art) on this meaningful project. The mural is 8’ x 32’.
