About the Artist:
I use paint to explore the depth and breadth of the human experience. As far as I can tell, art is the only way to communicate my internal experience without using words. As my work evolves, I seek to visually convey some of these experiences into spatial fields and symbols that, I hope, can transcend culture and language.
Currently, I’m interested in using op-art motifs as a stand-in for the concept of the self - what I see as an ever-changing illusionary experience whose boundaries aren't limited to the body or even the mind- one that stirs feelings of a familiar strangeness. My aim is to evoke an elusive emotional reaction- somewhere between awe and hyper-association.
I seek to bridge the gaps between ‘visionary’ art, op-art, and contemporary art. I am always looking for ways to improve my skill while simultaneously being more direct so as to make an impact with the work.
