About the Artist
Denver based artist Chelsea Lewinski is known for her emotion infused portraits of varying scale. Branching out from digital and acrylic art, she has recently taken up large-scale aerosol painting, earning herself a spot among the most respected names in Denver street art and culture. Lewinski’s passion for painting portraits stems from a love of capturing the human experience through many therapeutic layers of paint. Her subjects consist of influential figures on every level; while she focuses on iconicography, she equally enjoys painting those in the community who make localized impact. Recognizing and honoring those who uplift us daily helps inspire the positive change that we all seek in our neighborhoods and world at large.
“Being a mom is DOPE. It’s been mesmerizing watching my son on his journey. Having a toddler was full of snuggles, tickles, cookies, warmth, laughs….and while all those things are certainly still there…nothing could have prepared me for everything that has come with his teenage years. Watching someone find themselves…being there to wipe the tears, helping to guide them through the frustrations, seeing the darkness they carry no matter how much you tried to protect them from it…. Seeing the strength, wisdom, passion, and light come in moments… all of it makes me realize i think we mess it all up by growing up. Hold onto your inner child baby boy. Most of us spend the majority of our lives trying to find it again. What an honor to paint and capture my son in this moment in time. It’s more than just Pokémon.”
