Call for Mentees: 2026 Mural Mentorship Program

Apply

Application opens August 3 and closes August 17, 2026, at 11:59 pm MT.

Are you an emerging muralist looking for mentorship, experience, and connection to the local street art community?

Selected mentees will be paired with experienced Mural Festival artists to participate in a series of one-on-one mentorship sessions leading up to and during the 2026 Superior Mural Festival. The mentorship program emphasizes building relationships and allows emerging artists to learn directly from professional muralists in the field.

Mentors will tailor hands-on sessions to meet the mentee's desired learning objectives. Mentors will pass on knowledge and experience, including technical skills (such as painting techniques, scaling, grid techniques) and business knowledge needed to work as a professional mural artist. Mentees may also assist their mentor with their festival mural.

This program aims to build community and provide emerging artists with valuable, hands-on learning experiences.

Program Overview:

  • Pairing: Street Wise Arts will pair selected mentees with mentors.

  • Mentorship Sessions: There will be a total of 3 sessions, each lasting 2 hours.

  • Dates: The mentorship sessions should take place during September and October, leading up to the Superior Mural Festival on October 4.

The program is limited to Colorado-based emerging artists, ages 18 and older.
