COMMUNITY ART DAY
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2023
10 AM - 4 PM
Head down to 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe this Sunday, September 24 from 10 am through 4 pm to experience various FREE participatory art activities provided by local community groups!
Street Wise Arts presents a community mural painting opportunity for all ages, led by Colorado artist Kaylee Bender, winner of our 2022 Art Battle at Boulder Creek Fest! We invite the community to help paint a design created by Kaylee that celebrates Boulder and the diverse community we have. Organizers from Black Love Mural Fest will also be present to talk about our upcoming collaborations.
We will also have an ARTivism Button Making station! Come create your own Art + Activism button out of collage materials and more.
Additionally, local artist Jennifer Chaparro will be heading the Chalk4Peace/Boulder in Color community art event with a co-created chalk mural on the Dushanbe Teahouse asphalt pad. This will be a wonderful opportunity to join your neighbors in creating an impactful work of art!
Check out the following free participatory art activities provided by other local community groups!:
Boulder Open Studios Mobile Art Lab will be doing an art activity and artist demonstrations.
BMoCA will be doing a hands-on art activity in the street.
Local artist Edica Pacha will be doing an iteration of her community wheat paste project to gather thoughts on Boulder Social Streets. This project is a part of the Experiments in Public Art program within the City of Boulder's Office of Arts & Culture.

The Museum of Boulder will also have a presence.
