About the Artist
Chicano artist Mario Jose Olvera a.k.a. Mister Mario comes from the core of Tejaztlan (Texas). Now based out of Longmont Colorado homeschooling his 2 beautiful children while creating, teaching and facilitating art classes and workshops for youth in underserved communities. Danza Azteca, indigenous Aztec dancing, has been his core inspiration and motivation in his life and Art for the past 15 yrs.
The upbringing in the urban cities of Houston, Texas and Guanajuato, Mexico has exposed him to the HipHop, graffiti and spoken word that has helped him fuse a new style of art and broaden his view on what art can be. Mister Mario has been involved in many in school and after school programs for teens, allowing them to experience a therapeutic approach of creating. Giving them tools to help them discover who we once were, who we are now and where do we go from here. Tiahui, Tiahui! (Adelanté)
