Call for Artists: 2025 Art Battle at Boulder Creek Festival

Apply by March 17, 2025. Limited to Colorado-based artists only!

Live paint at the Boulder Creek Festival’s Art Zone curated by Street Wise Arts. Selected artists will have two days to paint two (2) single Adirondack chairs. Festival-goers will vote for their favorite chair during the festival. The top 3 artists receive an additional cash prize. The finished chairs will be available for purchase through an online auction to support future programs of Street Wise Arts (a 501c3 nonprofit organization).

• What: Live paint Adirondack chairs during a two-day battle at the Boulder Creek Festival

• Dates: Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25

• Hours: 10 am-6 pm each day

• Where: Street Wise Art Zone at the Boulder Creek Festival (south parking lot of the Boulder Library)

• Guaranteed Stipend: $350 for 2 days

• Additional Artist Perks:

  • The “People’s Choice” winner will be awarded a cash prize of $500 and second and third place winners will also receive a cash prize.

  • Exposure to a large audience through one of Boulder’s iconic events.

  • Lunch and drinks provided each day.

About Boulder Creek Festival

Boulder Creek Festival® is Boulder’s weekend taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26, 2025. Hosted annually for more than 30 years, the event is the official kickoff to summer in Boulder. Presented by the City of Boulder, the event features three days of festivities, including bands and performances; food and beverage, ranging from food trucks to healthy vegetarian eats; a curated marketplace showcasing local makers and fine art; a wellness area with fitness classes and health services; a Creekside for Kids area with family-friendly activities; and a new Beer Festival by the Creek. At its core, the festival is a Boulder-centric event produced for and by the community.
