Apply

Join artist Bimmer Torres in creating a community mural at the Main Boulder Public Library!

Youth will assist Bimmer with the entire mural installation process, including prepping and priming the wall, a mural design workshop, and painting the mural design on the wall.

  • Session #1: Saturday, September 20, 9:30 am-4:30 pm

  • Session #2: Sunday, September 21, 1-5 pm

The program is limited to youth ages 12 to 16. Participants must be available to attend both sessions.

The program concludes with Bimmer's Experiments in Public Art Lecture and the unveiling of the mural on Sunday, September 28 from 3 to 5 pm. Attendance is not required for participation, but it is highly encouraged!

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will close the application once we have received enough participants for the program.

Contact allyson@streetwisearts.org with any questions.

About Bimmer T:

Bimmer Torres's exposure to the Chicano-themed murals and graffiti while growing up in North Denver had a big impact on him. He began practicing graffiti when he was 15 years old, eventually incorporating the letter-painting techniques he developed into his mural work. With over 18 years of experience collaborating with stakeholders and community members on various art projects, including murals, canvas installations, and sculptures, he has amassed a portfolio of over 200 works across Colorado and neighboring states. His work is a synthesis of bright colors from sarape patterns, as well as hyper-realistic portraits, plants, and cultural artifacts. The harmonious balance between each element creates a unique image that tells a story.
