About the Artist
I was born in the US and now live and work between Amsterdam and the Silver Coast of Portugal, where my time moves between the studio and our small apple farm, The Holdout.
My practice exists in the overlap between the immediacy of the street and the more contemplative environment of the studio and exhibition space.
My visual language blends graphic stencil techniques with a more painterly, intuitive approach. I work with hand-drawn and hand-cut stencils. I love book making, street actions and printing.
I’m drawn to contrasts, comfort and unease, innocence with something slightly darker beneath.
There’s a purposeful tension in my work between structure and freedom, nostalgia and the present moment.
