Compensation: $20/ hour, 10-15 average hours per week (with less early on and more hours during festival season)

Street Wise Arts is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization based in Boulder, CO. Our mission is to create mural projects, community events and youth education programs that enhance the urban environment, amplify diversity and engage people in social justice and dialogue. Our core values are advocating for equity and representation for artists, cross sector collaborations and contributing to a diverse cultural landscape. “Street Wise Boulder” is our annual mural festival created to amplify public art through the lens of social justice. We've installed over 100 murals in Boulder since 2015, through our mural festival, community and youth projects. We prioritize representation for BIPOC, emerging, and LGBTQIA artists and invite local, national and international artists to participate in our festival. We bring art into neighborhoods including underserved and hidden pockets of Boulder as well as in the heart of the City centers and in the arts district. We love collaborating with organizations to advance social issues through the arts while providing opportunities for artists. We create programming for students and youth with our professional artists as well as offer community workshops and events. Our programming has provided a launch pad for artists and a model to support the intersection of Art & Activism.
Position Description: Street Wise Arts is a grassroots-founded, nonprofit arts organization that is quickly growing. Over the last three years SWA has produced Boulder’s only mural festival along with other related mural programming and educational offerings. Going into our fourth year, the mural festival is continuing to evolve and taking shape as one of Boulder’s premier arts events. We are seeking a program coordinator to help manage the festival operations under the direction and leadership of our founder and Executive Director. This position will be based in Boulder, though much of the work can be done remotely outside of festival events/season. Living in or near Boulder is a definite plus. Street Wise Arts uses a shared work office located in Boulder. This position is a contract position for four months leading up to and including our 2022 mural festival. The mural festival dates are September 29th - October 2nd, 2022. There is a possibility for future advancement / opportunities and/or a more full time position developing in 2023.

You have a passion for the arts community and love working with artists. You are also highly professional and can connect with the business community. You are self directed, proactive, innovative and creative in your work and love learning new skills. If you are bilingual/spanish speaking that’s a plus!
Responsibilities:
Implement the goals of the organization under direct supervision of the Executive Director
Organize and hold all coordination needs of the mural festival including mural site locations, permits, lift needs, sponsorship deliverables, mural artist logistics, event partnerships and volunteer management.
Manage contracts and communications with property owners, artists, sponsors and other needed administrative forms
Manage media production, relationships, collaborations and events, including digital murals, augmented reality platform management and other new media initiativesManage and update website content including adding Artist roster, mural pages, maps and events to our websites using squarespace
Coordinate / produce marketing materials for the event including: signage, social media posts, press releases, printed collateral (festival guides, flyers, signs), email campaigns, and other online advertising. Maintain the program budget and track expenses and revenue
Help build excellent relationships with sponsors, artists and community partners
Coordinate events and workshops that support the mission of the organization
Coordinate technical needs and assist in the production of hybrid events including post event distribution of media and resources. Assist in the communication needs around fundraising campaigns including crowdfunding and individual donations
Professionally represent the organization at events and with press requests as needed
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in event planning, gallery management, or production in an arts related field
Bachelor’s degree or higher in the arts or related field Familiarity with the public visual arts sector, Colorado’s mural scene and other similar programming
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills including an ability to take initiative and approach problems with a positive attitude.Familiarity with google suite including spreadsheets, forms, Adobe Suite/Canva/Creative skills a plus
Experience working with local communities / neighborhoods including organizing and outreach, working with volunteers.
Work environment: Mostly remote with in person office hours in Boulder optional. Weekly meetings with the executive director. Event hours required including evenings and weekends.
